iPhone 14/14 Plus/14 Pro/14 Pro Max all have the feature of LED notification. In other words, when any notification arrives, the phone will flash LED lights to grab your attention. This feature is particularly helpful if your phone is in silent mode.
But what if LED notification alerts are not working even when you have turned on LED notification alerts?
Well, this is a technical issue that you can try to fix using several methods. Let’s investigate those possible fixes.
Tips to Fix iPhone 14 Notification Not Working Issue
In case the LED notification alerts are not working, there are a few solutions that you can try at home.
Here is what you can do:
1. Check for Hardware Issues
If there is a hardware problem and the LED lights of your phone have become faulty, this feature will not work. You can check whether the LED lights are all working or not by turning on the LED flashlight on your phone.
- Open Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of your phone’s home screen.
- Tap on the LED flashlight icon.
If the flashlight fails to turn on, there is a hardware issue, and you must take your phone to your nearest Apple service center.
2. Enable LED Notification Alerts on Lock Screen
If you have not enabled this feature, you won’t see LED notifications on your iPhone’s lock screen. Simply follow the steps of turning on LED notifications and then enable the option of LED flashing on the lock screen.
3. Turn OFF Do Not Disturb
If you have turned on the Do Not Disturb feature on your iPhone 14/14 Plus/14 Pro/14 Pro Max, no notification will arrive – not even the LED notification alerts.
In that case, make sure you turn off the Do Not Disturb feature. Here is how you disable this feature on your iPhone:
- Open your Settings tab.
- Scroll down to find Do Not Disturb and then toggle it ON. Once ON, the greyed-out button will turn Green.
4. Force Reboot Your Phone
A go-to option is to force reboot your iPhone 14/14 Plus/14 Pro/14 Pro Max. This method can remove most of the minor software glitches by ending the current power cycle.
To hard reboot your phone, follow the steps below:
- Press and release the Volume Up button.
- Next, immediately press and release the Volume Down button.
- Now, press and hold the Side button on the right side of the phone.
- Once you see the Apple logo appearing on your screen, release the Side button.
Wait for your phone to reboot and then try to activate the LED notification alert and check whether it works or not.
5. Turn Off the Camera App
If the camera app on your iPhone is open, you must turn it off. This camera app can interfere with your LED notification alerts.
To turn off the camera app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen up to the middle of the screen. Now all open apps will show up. Select the camera app and swipe it up to kill the app.
Now test the LED notification alerts.
6. Let Your Phone Cool Down
Sometimes, iPhones can overheat for many reasons, including overuse. When that happens, most of the features of the phone stop working including LED flash and even LED notification alerts.
It is important that you let your iPhone cool down for a few hours. Turn off your phone and leave it in a cool environment. Once the phone is cool enough to resume normal operations, try the LED notification alerts.
7. Remove the Magnetic Phone Case
If your iPhone has a magnetic phone case, it can interfere with the LED notification alert features. Test this feature by removing the magnetic cover. If it works, you will need a different non-magnetic cover to make the feature work.
8. Update Your Phone’s Operating System
Bugs in the operating system of your iPhone 14/14 Plus/14 Pro/14 Pro Max can lead to various annoying issues including LED notification alerts not working.
Try to update the operating system of your phone. Here are the steps that you must follow:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Scroll down and tap on General.
- On the next screen scroll down to find Software Update and tap on it.
If updates are available, you will see a notification that will ask you to download and install the updates. Go ahead and do that. Once the update is done, your phone will reboot on its own.
Now check the LED notification alerts.
9. Contact Service Center
If none of the methods above work and the LED notification alerts don’t work no matter what you do, it is time that you take your phone to your nearest Apple service center and ask them to fix it.
Make sure not to hand over your phone to any unauthorized service center because that can invalidate your warranty, which means the next time you visit an authorized service center, you will need to pay!
