At least twice every year, Samsung launches a new Series of its famous Galaxy note. Surely these are some of the best smartphones on the market, and the entry of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is undoubtedly a game-changer.
Despite the outstanding features, there is no denying the fact that just like any other smartphone, you could be having issues with the camera.
In this post, we highlight a step by step instructions on how you can fix camera issues on your adorable Galaxy Note 10. Let’s get started.
1. Understand your phone’s specs
There is not much difference between the note 9 or 10 series. However, you will note that the Galaxy Note 10 does not have a headphone plug and a microSD slot. Nonetheless, users may prefer it due to its sleek size and specs.
Whenever the camera on your smartphone stops working, it doesn’t always mean that the physical camera is faulty. Most cameras are not tied on hardware damages but instead on software errors, hence, can be rectified by end-users. It’s essential to understand your phone’s specs before you start fixing the problem.
2. Boot your handset in safe mode then diagnose the apps
When you boot the handset into safe mode, all the third party apps are usually disabled temporarily. It helps the user determine whether the apps are triggering the camera failure upon loading the camera app.
Follow the steps below to boot your device:
- Start by switching off your phone by pressing and holding the power button.
- Next wait for the Samsung logo to appear and immediately release the power button.
- After that press and hold the volume button after releasing the power button.
- Press again and wait for the phone to restart.
Once your phone is on, release the volume button. Subsequently, check for the safe mode icon at the bottom of the screen.
You may try using the camera when your handset is on safe mode, and if the error disappears, then find out which one of the apps is the cause. You can install any app that you may have installed before the error started if you suspect that it could be the cause.
3. Close the Camera app then restart the device
Sometimes the camera error may appear randomly. For instance, when you are using a certain video. This situation may be rectified by force closing the camera app and restarting it.
You can reset your device in simple steps.
- From the centre of your home screen, swipe up or down to show the Apps tray.
- Next, navigate the settings and select the apps.
- After this step then select the individual app then tap force stop.
- Next, restart your phone to clear internal memory for better functions.
- Try long pressing the power button until the phone is off.
- At this point, a prompt will appear and when it does, select restart.
- Afterward, tap restart again to confirm.
- Once done, re-launch your camera app to find out if the error has cleared.
4. Backup and reset to default factory settings
This step is your last resort if everything else fails. This method wipes out everything on your phone’s system. Once you are through, your phone will go back to its default settings.
To back up and reset your phone, follow the following steps.
- Go to your apps tray and select SETTINGS
- Scroll down and select Backup and reset
- Select Back up my data on your Samsung account (You can also use your Google account)
- Enable Automatic restoration
Once your data is backed up, it’s time to do a factory reset.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down to Back up and reset
- Tap on Factory data reset
- Tap on Reset device
- If your phones security lock is enabled, enter the password and proceed.
- Now tap on Erase everything.
